Poetry Assignment #2: Mixed Feelings

"Science"

The best thing is it's true
a systematic collection of facts

But the worst thing is it's false
a chaotic battle of theories both to be disproven

But The best thing is its ability to protect
A forge for the shields to defend us from the awesome power of natural life 

But the worst thing is its knack for destruction
an anvil for swords meant to split the atoms of natural life

But the best thing is how it unifies
A species under a journey for truth and the fruits of exploration,  and how they may cook

But the worst thing is how it divides
A contradiction of previous beliefs, men tortured for simple theories that contradict a holy book

But the best thing is what it creates
devices to help us fly, to bring us back to life, and to bring sight, where once it was not

But the worst thing is what it creates
devices to help us spy, to bring an end to life, to bring blindness, where once there was not

But the best/worst thing of them all,  is it's science
