Poetry Assignment #9: A Legendary Tale

A legendary Tale

In the corner stood The Legend

Pondering how to find  a Myth

It may just be an old Rumor

But If you believe in the Lore

Then you will follow his Tale

On his quest for the Truth

The Facts are the Truth

And to uncover,  you must be a Legend

For Facts are so rare, thy're closer to Myth

Go to the cave; so says the Rumor

to fin an Old man known to the Lore

And ask the Old Man for his Tale

"You wonder my Tale?

Well, if you insist here's the Truth

There is a Dragon, who has killed many a Legend

And he sits on the rock that has made many a Myth

He can hear his name when spoke ill, so quickly spread a rumor

Or lest yourself be lost in lore"

The Dragon looked down from his mountain reflecting his Lore

When in the wind, he heard an unpleasant Tale

"I did not, No that isn't the Truth!"

And he was off clear his name, and retain a Legend

He crashed through the village, and disproved many he thought he was Myth

"What you people say is a lie! now who spread this viscous Rumor?"

"It was I who spread the Rumor!"

And then stood the man unafraid of the Lore

"For to know the facts, I had to create a silly Tale"

The dragon shouted with fire "so, its due to you, wanting the Truth?!'

The dragon grabed with his claws and caught the Legend

"After this you'll be all but a Myth"

But he cut him self free with a blade made from Myth

He stabbed the Beast, enraged by his Rumor

In the dragons one weakness, discovered in Lore

He asked the beast, in its final Tale

To tell just one single Truth

So, that he himself may be a Legend

"Tomorrow I may be myth, thanks to your hurtful Rumor

But at least you respected the Lore, and so shall I with the Tale

Of the worlds one Truth, you my friend; are Legend
